§ 1-9. Same—To be numbered consecutively; method of numbering.

(a)

Regardless of inclusion of some but not all subsequent ordinances in this Code, the consecutive chronological numbering of all ordinances, as passed by the city council, shall continue.

(b)

The number of each ordinance adopted by the city council shall be hyphenated and shall consist of two (2) parts:

(1)

A numerical prefix indicating all four (4) digits of the calendar year in which the ordinance was passed; and

(2)

A numerical suffix denoting the numerical order in which that ordinance was adopted with relationship to the other ordinances adopted during that calendar year, so that the number of the first ordinance adopted in the year 2014 would be Ordinance No. 2014-1.
