§ 20-14. Same—Procedure for recommending, amending; copy to be certified to council.

  • (a)

    Before recommending the city plan required by this article or any section of it or any substantial amendment thereof, the planning commission shall hold at least one public hearing thereon, notice of the time and place of which shall be given by publication in the official newspaper of the city at least ten (10) days before the hearing. The recommendation of the city plan or of any section or amendment thereof shall be by resolution of the commission, approved by an affirmative vote of not less than five-sevenths ( 5/7 ) of its total membership. The commission may, from time to time, amend or add to the city plan or any section thereof in the same manner provided for the recommendation of the original plan whenever changed conditions or further studies by the commission indicate that such amendment or addition is necessary.

    (b)

    An attested copy of the plan or of any section, amendment or addition to the plan recommended by the commission shall be certified to the council.
