§ 22-1. Tracks to be level with streets; duty to alter tracks when street grades change.

  • (a)

    Railroad tracks in the city shall be so laid that the tops of the rails will be level with the surface of the street and the rails will form no material obstruction to the free use of the street by the public.

    (b)

    In all cases in the city where the grades of streets traversed by such track are changed by the council, it shall be the duty of each railroad or railway company responsible for such track to relay the track, within such reasonable time as may be required by the council, in such manner as to make it conform to the change.
